Celebrating Lilian Rice Luncheon

The “Celebrating Lilian J. Rice” luncheon, hosted by the Women’s Museum of California and sponsored by the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society was held on February 12th at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe with a reception, lunch, and presentation.

The benefit reception and luncheon featured keynote speaker Diane Y. Welch, Rice’s official biographer who authored two books about the architect. The Inn was the very first building designed by Rice in the 1920s.

All funds raised during the luncheon will go to benefit the Women’s Museum of California, their new location being at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park. The museum is dedicated to educating and inspiring present and future generations about the experiences and contributions of diverse women by collecting, preserving, and interpreting their stories.
