Chefs Cork & Craft Gala

On April 27, the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank's 7th annual Chefs, Cork & Craft Gala - A seaside Soiree was held at the 90,000-square-foot San Diego Food Bank's working warehouse. The space was turned into a stunning dinner venue for the evening's honored guests. The gala theme was chosen to serve as homage to the region's relationship with the coast and sea thanks to the proximity to Southern California's sun-kissed golden shores.

Each year the gala features more than 30 volunteer chefs from renowned hotels, restaurants, and organizations from across the county. Each table of 10 guests is assigned their own personal chef for the evening who prepared an amazing multi-course dinner, which adds an exciting element to the night's proceedings.

Funds raised from the gala support the Food Bank's new Diapers to Degrees Initiative that comprises innovative new programs including the Diaper Bank Program, the On-The-Go Food Pantry Program operating at junior high and high schools, and the College Hunger-Relief Program. These vital programs are helping to remove barriers to education and work for students and working-poor parents throughout San Diego.

The evening offered an array of beautiful silent auction items, followed by a live auction presentation, the sit down dinner and live entertainment for after-dinner dancing by the Sleepwalkers.
