Collector's Dinner at The Timken

A gathering of art lovers joined Robert and Karen Hoehn for an intimate evening of art, wine, and cuisine in the Timken Museum of Art in celebration of the summer exhibition.

Catered by award-winning chef Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille this intimate evening in the Museum galleries celebrated an exquisite exhibition of magnificent Italian masterworks.  Private collector Robert Hoehn along with Director of Curatorial Affairs Derrick Cartwright provided a conversational glimpse into the art of collecting such masterworks.

Limited to 60 invited guests, the evening was highlighted by a pre-dinner reception allowing an opportunity to enjoy the masterpieces and mingle with the guests.

Private Devotions: Italian Paintings and Sculptures from San Diego Collections is the second in the ongoing summer series Collections in Context, designed to highlight important works of art from private collections and heighten understanding of significant works of art at the Timken. Curated by Derrick R. Cartwright, PhD, this exhibition will feature more than a dozen magnificent Italian masterworks of art dating from the 13th through the 17th centuries.  Rarely seen by the public, only a few of these works have been on display previously.
