Arts District Liberty Station

The Arts District Liberty Station stands as one of San Diego’s most dynamic cultural hubs—a 100-acre creative campus born from the historic Naval Training Center and transformed into a thriving ecosystem of galleries, studios, theaters, and nonprofit organizations. Since its founding in 2000 under the stewardship of the NTC Foundation, the district has evolved into the largest arts campus in the region, housing more than 120 creative tenants and serving as both a cultural anchor and economic driver for the city’s arts community. Its mission centers on fostering creativity through artist residencies, public art installations, youth education programs, and collaborative partnerships that connect San Diego with the broader Baja region.

On the evening of April 30, 2026, the district marked its 25th anniversary with a celebratory gala—a robust, community-centered affair honoring the individuals and institutions that have shaped its remarkable journey. The evening paid tribute to a selection of those who have contributed to its growth and success.

Framed as both a celebration and a forward-looking statement, the gala underscored Arts District Liberty Station’s enduring role as a place “where art, community, and culture intersect,” while inviting the next generation of creatives and patrons to carry its legacy into the future.
