The Coronado Island Film Festival once again brought the magic of cinema to one of Southern California’s most picturesque coastal communities, celebrating the artistry, creativity, and storytelling that define the world of filmmaking. Set against the timeless charm of Coronado, the festival has established itself as a distinguished cultural event, bringing together filmmakers, actors, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts for an engaging showcase of independent films, documentaries, and compelling international productions.
Beyond the screenings, the festival offers a welcoming environment for creative exchange, celebrating both established talent and emerging voices in the motion picture industry.A highlight of this year’s festivities was the glamorous Leonard Maltin Industry Tribute Awards Gala, held November 4 in the magnificent Crown Room of the iconic Hotel del Coronado.
The evening began with a champagne reception and red-carpet arrivals, followed by an elegant dinner and awards presentation hosted by renowned film critic Leonard Maltin. Among those honored were celebrated actress Nia Long, legendary singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins, film producer Coco Francini, costume designer Amy Roth, and casting director Victoria Thomas. Guests enjoyed an evening of Hollywood glamour, engaging conversations with the honorees, and dancing at the after-party.
The celebration was a fitting tribute to the festival’s 11th anniversary and its continuing contribution to San Diego’s vibrant cultural landscape.
