Fresh Start Surgical Gifts hosted its 28th Annual Gala themed the "Bootleggers Ball" on October 19th at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. The 28th Annual Gala celebrated Fresh Start's commitment over the past 28 years in providing free-of-cost reconstructive surgery and transforming the lives of infants, children and teens with physical deformities caused by birth defects, accidents, abuse or disease. The all volunteer force also treats a variety of physical conditions that may cause low self-esteem among children. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised during the fundraiser go to benefit the Surgical Gifts Medical Program.

The Gala featured a jazzy evening, highlighted by a cocktail reception, both live and silent auctions, dinner, and live music by The Heroes.
