For one evening each summer, we transform this beautiful venue into the backdrop for a magical black-tie event. Guests are treated to an exceptionally fun night of dining and dancing under the stars in celebration of our nonprofit beneficiaries and generous supporters.

Las Patronas was founded in 1946 by fourteen members who contributed handmade decorations to the first Jewel Ball. Today, the fifty active members of Las Patronas proudly carry on the traditions of our founding members by building the ball design elements by hand and transporting them, piece by piece, to the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club to create one of San Diego’s best fêtes. The theme for the 75th Anniversary Jewel Ball was Diamonds Are Forever! In classic James Bond style, Diamonds Are Forever exuded elegance, exhilaration, excitement, and intrigue, while incorporating a nod to the past. 

Attendees dressed to kill, and were taken on a mission like they've never experienced . . . and won’t soon forget. They enjoyed unsurpassed food and drink worthy of a mission accomplished, provided by Behind the Scenes Catering and dancee the night away to music by Wayne Foster Entertainment. 

Friends new and old, reconnected while supporting critically needed grants to local nonprofits. It was a night of mystery, action, glamour, and sophistication.
