The North County Food Bank’s inaugural Season of Giving Gala presented by the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians was held on the evening of Saturday, December 15, 2018.
This elegant evening event took place on the California State University San Marcos campus in The Ballroom, raising vital funds in support of the Food Bank’s vast array of hunger-relief programs that serve working-poor families; low-income, active-duty military families; veterans; fixed-income seniors; and children living in poverty.
Guests enjoyed a festive reception with silent and live auction items offered before and after the sit down dinner. Gala guests were treated to the sounds of live seasonal music performed by the San Diego Harmony Ringers, a highly talented handbell choir group during the cocktail reception and silent auction. The evening ended on an energetic note with all gala guests being invited to hit the dance floor moving to the rhythmic sounds of Latin jazz group, Bill Caballero Sextet.
Proceeds from the gala will support critical hunger-relief programs including the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program which provides weekend backpacks of food to elementary school children living in poverty.
