The RITZ - Rendezvous in the Zoo

On June 13, 2026, the San Diego Zoo once again transformed into one of the region's most extraordinary gala settings as supporters gathered beneath the stars for the annual Rendezvous In The Zoo (RITZ). Widely regarded as one of San Diego's premier philanthropic events, the evening brought together community leaders, conservation advocates, and wildlife enthusiasts in support of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance's global mission to protect endangered species and preserve biodiversity.

Guests arrived to an atmosphere of elegance and excitement, where lush zoo pathways became a vibrant backdrop for an evening filled with gourmet cuisine, specialty cocktails, live entertainment, and unforgettable encounters with some of the Zoo's remarkable animal ambassadors. The event offered a rare opportunity to experience the San Diego Zoo after hours while supporting meaningful conservation efforts around the world.

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed an impressive array of culinary creations, interactive experiences, and opportunities to learn more about the groundbreaking work being conducted by the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. From protecting endangered wildlife in their native habitats to advancing cutting-edge conservation science, the organization continues to lead global efforts to ensure a future where all life thrives.

Since its inception in 1984, RITZ has raised more than $20 million in support of wildlife conservation, funding initiatives that benefit both the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park while extending conservation efforts across the globe. The annual gala remains one of the Alliance's most significant fundraising events and a powerful reminder of the impact that collective philanthropy can have on preserving the natural world for future generations.

As the evening continued beneath the summer sky, guests danced, mingled, and celebrated a shared commitment to wildlife conservation. More than a glamorous social occasion, RITZ 2026 served as an inspiring testament to the community's dedication to protecting vulnerable species and supporting the innovative work that has made the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance a global conservation leader.

For those in attendance, The RITZ was not simply a gala—it was a celebration of hope, stewardship, and the enduring belief that together, we can help create a world where wildlife and people thrive side by side.
