For six decades, the Women’s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army in San Diego has stood as a devoted force of compassion, philanthropy, and community service. Comprised of civic-minded women dedicated to supporting the organization’s humanitarian mission, the Auxiliary raises essential funding and awareness for programs assisting individuals and families facing hardship throughout the region. Their efforts help support shelters, food distribution, rehabilitation services, youth programs, and emergency assistance for those confronting poverty, homelessness, addiction, and personal crisis. Through volunteerism, fundraising events, and year-round outreach, the Auxiliary has become a respected pillar of charitable leadership within San Diego County.
The annual Women of Dedication luncheon has evolved into one of the organization’s signature events, honoring accomplished women whose professional success is equally matched by their generosity, integrity, and commitment to the betterment of others.
Held on May 15th at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, this year was a special Diamond Jubilee celebration marking the Auxiliary’s 60th anniversary. The luncheon gathered civic leaders, philanthropists, business professionals, and supporters together for an afternoon recognizing women who have made meaningful contributions throughout the San Diego community. The honorees represented diverse fields including business, healthcare, education, philanthropy, and nonprofit service, yet shared a common thread of compassion and dedication toward uplifting others.
Beyond the elegant setting and celebratory atmosphere, the luncheon carried a deeper purpose — shining a light on the importance of service, mentorship, and charitable leadership during a time when community support remains critically needed. The event served not only as a tribute to distinguished women, but also as a reminder that positive change is often driven by individuals willing to devote their time, resources, and influence toward helping others thrive. Through the continued efforts of the Women’s Auxiliary and its Women of Dedication honorees, The Salvation Army continues its longstanding mission of bringing hope, dignity, and assistance to countless lives across San Diego.
